L’Authentique (Auckland) Custom Food Control Plan (cFCP) Consolidation

A structured transition to a single registered site with uninterrupted operations.

Project Overview

L’Authentique engaged Navigate Food to support a complex operational transition involving the consolidation of two existing production sites into a single, purpose-selected facility. The project required careful planning to ensure uninterrupted operations while achieving full regulatory approval under the Food Act 2014.


The scope included relocating all manufacturing activities to a new site at 26 Canning Crescent, Māngere, Auckland, renewing Food Act registration, changing verification agencies, and managing all regulatory communications associated with a significant amendment to the company’s custom Food Control Plan (cFCP).


Project Objectives

  • Consolidate operations from two sites into one compliant production facility

  • Renew Food Act registration without disruption to production

  • Change verification agency as part of the transition

  • Manage timelines to ensure a controlled, low-risk consolidation

  • Achieve registration of the new site with no conditions


Navigate Food’s Role

Navigate Food led the project end-to-end, acting as the technical, regulatory, and coordination lead throughout the relocation and registration process.

Key activities included:


  • Custom Food Control Plan (cFCP) review and update

    • Expanded scope to include the new production site

    • Prepared documentation for a significant amendment submission

  • Site and facility updates

    • Updated site drawings, equipment layouts, and hygiene zoning

    • Reviewed production flows and segregation to support food safety outcomes

  • Environmental monitoring programme updates

    • Revised environmental swab locations to reflect the new site layout and risk profile

  • Support programme updates, including:

    • Personal hygiene

    • Cleaning and sanitation

    • Water management

    • Design and construction

    • Pest control

    • Calibration

    • Process controls

  • Regulatory and verifier liaison

    • Direct communication with the evaluator and new verifier

    • Formal communication to MPI regarding the significant amendment

    • Managed queries and approvals to keep the project on track

  • Transition planning

    • Developed timelines to maintain continuity of operations

    • Supported a controlled and compliant consolidation onto the new site


Outcome

  • Canning Crescent site successfully registered under the Food Act

  • No conditions applied at registration

  • Project delivered ahead of schedule

  • Seamless transition with no interruption to operations
